PURPOSE
To manage training and assessment of learners, trainees and members as well as RPL
To manage and maintain the accreditation of programmes, institutions and service providers
KEY OUTPUTS
Assessment
- Manage the assessment processes for all qualifications and designations
- Administer all assessments and assessment processes
- Manage the quality control over the assessment processes
- Maintain and updating of online assessments as well as conducting oral intervention assessments
- Manage the logistics for the Professional Evaluation assessment
- Manage, maintaining and updating the online assessments in alignment with the Competency
Framework
- Issuing of NQF, Critical skills and competence
Committees/ Forums
- Provide secretariat support to EDCOM and ExamCOM, Accreditation, and RPL structures
- Service on external structures affecting trainees and assessments
- Plan Committee/Forum
- i) Develop annual year plan,
- ii) Update stakeholder list,
iii) Update meetings' agenda
- Oversee Accredited University Forum meetings
- Oversee Overall Evaluator Forum meetings
- Organize and administer Assessor Forum meetings
Recognition of Prior Learning
- Set-up RPL meeting
- Tabling applications to RPL committee
- Provide recommendations on system
Training Programmes
- Assist with the administration of the activities relating to Projects (such as Project Achiever),
assessments and other related matters of the department
- Approve of extension of learnership programmes and trainee transfers
- Identify funding sources (call-out) and assist with the drafting of identified funding proposal for projects
- Attend QCTO stakeholder meets
Trainee support-webinars- further discussions
- Arrange/manage assessor course
- Career expos only when required.
STAKEHOLDER RELATIONSHIP MANAGEMENT
External
- Develop a Stakeholder engagement plan for the Institute in collaboration with TS department
- Manage relationships with department external service providers and ensuring stakeholders derive
value from association and engagements with the company
- Manage contracts in conjunction with the Legal department of all external services providers
- Ensure compliance of Service Level Agreement by the service provider
- Manage relationship with the Institute's external service providers
Internal
- Participate in key decisions as a member of the management team
- Maintain in-depth relations with all members of the management team and staff
- Maintain relations with other departments within the organisation
PEOPLE MANAGEMENT
- Manage and oversee the effectiveness of staff by:
- Directing, delegating and managing the department
- Effective people planning, deployment and development within the department with due regards to
the relevant legislation, policies, procedures and best practices
- Inform staff of all occurrences relative to the institute and the departments
- Monitor and appraise team performance against agreed standards and goals
- Take corrective measures as required
- Conduct staff training needs analysis
Educational Requirements:
- Honours Degree in Commerce or related field
- Professional Qualification / Designation in Accounting
- Preferably Undergraduate studies in Education and Education Management or Public
Administration
Experience Required
- 5 years in Education and Training environment
- 3 years in management level
- Practical experience in the administration of professional qualifications and designations of the company
- Practical experience in the administration of trainees in compliance with legislative requirements
- Practical experience in the development of competency frameworks and education programmes
- Practical experience in the administration of assessments and assessment processes
Knowledge of
- Practical and technical understanding of the legislative compliance requirements within the
education and professional environment
- Practical and technical understanding of the legislative compliance requirements within the
education and professional environment relating to assessments
