Our client, a leading mining company, is looking for an underground winder fitter to join their team in the West Rand, Gauteng. The role with be for 12 months, with the potential to become permanent.
Duties will include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Ensure health and safety of self and team members by applying relevant standards and procedures in all planning and execution of maintenance activities
- Perform inspections in accordance with Mine Health and Safety Act
- Promote and develop team work
- Ensure that condition monitoring of equipment, scheduled and planned maintenance are conducted effectively
- Timely response to breakdown management, conduct appropriate root cause analysis and diagnosis
- Perform maintenance repairs, fabrication and installation work on all assigned equipment
- Report all defects and breakdowns on equipment and machinery to the foreman
- Assist with expansion and construction of new equipment or installations
- Develop, modify, construct and install related equipment required for the safe operation of all engineering equipment
- Identify spares requirements
- Create and maintain job cards according to system requirements
Minimum Requirements:
- Grade 12 or equivalent
- Winder Fitter Trade-tested
- Minimum 2 years' post-trade test experience in a winder fitter function, with different winders such as single drum, double drum and Blair Multi-Rope winders
- Proven diagnostic experience on hydraulic and pneumatic systems
- Proficiency in different pumping sections
- Must be able to pass site-medical
- Clear criminal record
- Willingness to work overtime, stand-bye and be available for call-outs - where client requires
