Vacancy exists at well known food producer in the Northern Suburbs have a vacancy for the abovementioned who will ensure group compliance to OHS legislation as well as providing expertise and guidance on OHS related mitigation measures and controls. This role is suited to an hands-on incumbent who will do audits and implement corrective actions in the factory. Min. of 5 yrs OHS Management exp in the manufacturing sector. Responsibilities:
Ensure legal compliance of the Group to OHS legislation.
Align the current SHE system to the ISO/IEC 45001 and 14001 standard.
Develop and maintain risk registers.
Develop and implement SHE procedures.
Work with departments and 16(2)'s towards implementation of the SHE system and procedures.
Conduct SHE inspections and audits.
Take corrective action to mitigate risks.
Perform incident investigations and report on outcomes.
Report to Executives on SHE related risks.
Develop and conduct SHE related training.
Management of SHE committee meetings.
Contractor management.
Write monthly and quarterly reports.
Liaise with external stakeholders e.g. DoL when required.
Requirements:
Dip/Deg Environmental Health, Safety or similar
Min 5 years' experience in OHS management in a manufacturing environment
Computer Literacy (Microsoft - Outlook, Excel, Word, Teams)
Detailed legislative and regulations knowledge (OHS Act, COIDA, etc.)
Understanding of ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 implementation
Experience in incident investigation, risk assessments, writing procedures, implementing SHE solutions to mitigate risks
Practical skills and competence in conducting OHS inspections and audits and reporting of result and taking corrective action
Perform well under pressure and be flexible in working hours
Must have good inter-personal skills, be able to work in a team setting and cross functionally to meet common goals.
